By Air

Logan International Airport: We recommend flying into Logan Airport in Boston, MA, which is a little more than a 2-hour drive/3-hour bus ride away from Hanover. The Dartmouth Coach ( or 1­‐800‐637­‐0123) operates convenient shuttle buses from Logan Airport to Hanover eight times a day, and they drop off and pick up in front of the Dartmouth College green in Hanover, NH, where we will greet you.

Manchester, NH and Burlington, VT Airports: The Manchester, NH airport and the Burlington, VT airport are served by several major airlines. Both are about 1.5 hour drive/2.5 hour bus ride away from Hanover, NH. 2-­3 Greyhound buses per day run from these airports to Hanover, NH or to White River Junction, VT (which is a 10 minute taxi ride from campus). A good place to look at the schedule for this particular service is: Another option traveling from Manchester is the UV RIDE, which is a shared taxi operating to and from the Manchester Airport. Lebanon, NH Regional Airport: Lebanon Regional, a 15-­20 minute taxi ride from campus, is served by Cape Air ( ) with flights from Logan Airport in Boston and from White Plains, NY. Only fly into Lebanon, NH if you are brave and like small aircraft!

By Mass Transit

Dartmouth Coach ( or 1-­800-­637-­0123) operates a special bus service from New York City to Hanover, NH. They also have a bus from South Station in Boston, MA.

Amtrak ( or 800‐523‐8720) provides daily service from NYC, Philadelphia, New Haven, Washington, DC and other cities to White River Junction, VT, which is approximately a 10- minute taxi ride from campus.

Greyhound ( or 802-­295-­3011) operates bus service from many points along the eastern seaboard into White River Junction, VT, which is approximately a 10 minute taxi ride from campus.

Local Transportation

Taxi service is available between the train station, bus station or Lebanon airport and campus. Taxis here generally have to be called to arrange a pickup; making reservations in advance is highly recommended. Contact Big Yellow Taxi (603-­643-­8294 or

A free local bus service (Advance Transit operates Monday – Friday only, including a campus route called the Dartmouth/Hanover Downtown Shuttle which could be handy for a ride from the dorms to downtown Hanover if you need one during the workshop.


The conference will take place on the campus of Dartmouth College.

There is housing available in the Fahey-McLane dormitory [] for $80.50 /night which includes three meals daily in the College cafeteria—a very good cafeteria with a wide selection—and internet service. The dormitory is air-conditioned. Rooms are singles but individual bathrooms are shared with 3-4 people. Sheets, blanket, and towels are included. We have 50 rooms set aside for the conference. The dormitory does not have other programs in it during the conference. If you’d like to reserve a room in the Fahey-McLane dormitory, please fill out the registration form found here: absolute last day to register for on-campus housing is July 10, 2016.

For those staying in the dorms, athletic passes for College facilities and parking passes are available. Athletic passes are $10/day. Parking passes are $30 for the duration.

There are several hotels in White River Junction about 15 minutes away, on the Advance Transit bus route, as well as Air BnB and other private options available in the area.

Dartmouth in early August is beautiful, often very hot, sometimes stormy, and cooler at night. There are running and biking trails, canoes to rent, and other recreational opportunities.


Parking in Hanover, a few blocks from the campus, is available at a parking garage right in town for $15 a day.
